ROTARY'S GUYANA PROJECT NEEDS YOUR HELP

For over 15 years, the Guyana Initiative has been a shining example of what makes the South Richmond Rotary Club great. Hundreds of children have received much needed medical and dental services who otherwise would have only known disease and despair. Our rolling dental clinic has been a blessing to so many villages in Guyana , allowing the children to show off their beautiful little smiles to adoring, but very poor parents.
The Guyana Initiative began with our club seeing a tremendous opportunity to help hopeless children in desperate need of medical and dental care. Dr. Julian Metts has been the guiding force behind our efforts. He, along with many volunteers in the medical profession and dedicated South Richmond Rotarians have created a vitally important service for the children of Guyana .
The Guyana Initiative has been responsible for more than dental services. The most significant of these was helping to bring children with terminal illnesses and maladies to the U.S. to receive life saving operations and medical care. In fact, the International Hospital for Children was founded as a result of the Guyana project.
It costs about $25,000 per year over and above all of those services provided by the people of Guyana and the countless volunteers that provide services free of charge to operate the clinic. We can keep with your support. Please consider supporting our efforts and give generously.
